It takes you into the local way of life as the Burmese are taking care of their floating gardens where they grow their fruit and vegetables, are weaving their silk and working at the blacksmith. Get a taste of Myanmar with the local cooking experience and feel like an experienced sommelier during your visit at the vineyard.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Yangon

You will meet your guide on arrival, transfer and check-in to your hotel. During the drive your guide will provide an introduction to Yangon (Rangoon), answer any questions you have, and make arrangements for the following day.

Enjoy free time for the remainder of the first day.

Located in the fertile delta region of central Burma (Myanmar), the former capital and waterfront city of Yangon with its crumbling British colonial mansions and ancient stupas, thriving restaurants and lively bars, is a melting pot of old and new. Home to over four million inhabitants, it's a sprawling city, the streets interspersed with parks and lakes, much of its allure stemming from the colourful street life. Marvel at the glittering Shwedagon Pagoda, wander the cobblestone streets of Bogyoke Market or simply watch the rickshaw drivers in their striped longyis (sarongs) peddle lazily through the streets as you sip on a cup of tea at a roadside tea stall.

Yangon has a good choice of restaurants serving both authentic Burmese cuisine and international choices. Ask your guide for personal recommendations.

Day 2: Yangon – Heho – Pindaya - Kalaw

This morning fly from Yangon to Heho where you'll meet your guide and travel by road to Pindaya for sightseeing. Pindaya, a small lovely town famous for limestone caves featured over 8000 Buddha images which were consecrated for worship over the centuries. Once you are in Pindaya it is worth to take a visit to the umbrella factory to observed the famous Shan paper and beautiful Burmese umbrellas. After Pindaya visits, proceed with car to Kalaw sitting on the western rim of the Shan Plateau at an altitude of 1,320 metres (4,330 feet) above sea level. The old British colonial hill station with beautiful and charming atmosphere. Accommodation will be at the town resort and we suggest having your typical dinner at Nepali restaurant prepared with local fruits and vegetables of Kalaw.

Day 3: Kalaw – Inle Lake

This morning visit to Kalaw Market where locals busy for their daily lives. See people selling local garden products of Tea, homemade noodles, flowers, sorts of fruits many if local produce items. Then accompanied by your guide, by overland reach to the jetty in Nyaung Shwe. Take to the water on a boat trip on Inle Lake to look at the beautiful scenery and observe the local way of life. See the large floating gardens where the Intha grow their fruit and vegetables.

The floating garden beds are made from lake-bottom weeds which are formed into garden beds and anchored by bamboo poles. These fertile floating gardens rise and fall with the changing water levels. There are also floating markets where fruit, vegetables and handmade products are sold from small boats. Lunch is taken on the shores of the lake. Visit PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA, the lake’s main sanctuary, which contains most five sacred Buddha images covered in gold leaf by devout pilgrimages. Visit to the weaving village of INPAWKHON, famous for traditional silk-weaving, Se Gaung Village, famous for the blacksmith work. End the day on the lake with a pleasant sunset surrounded by mountains. Your room will be private room/bungalow at the lake with comfortable bed and modern room amenities.

Day 4: Inle Lake

Rise early to visit the rural but bustling traditional five-day-market, named due to its location changing every five days and alternating between villages. The local people and the minority hill tribe people from the surrounding area congregate at the market to trade their goods. The atmosphere is vibrant and the market is alive with activity. The hill tribe people wear their colourful traditional costumes, uniquely woven and decorated with artistically designed jewellery. Market produce being traded includes fruit, vegetables, dried tea leaves, and sorts of handmade items. Visit Nan Pan Village where to observe how Burmese cigars, or “cheroots,” are traditionally packed and rolled by hand. Return to your hotel around noon time and enjoy free leisure at the lake resort.

Shan State and Inle Lake is famous for country’s beautiful dishes and its distinct flavours. In the evening meet the local chef and prepare for exciting local cooking experience. Inle Heritage house grows sorts of vegetables, local spices, herbs and culinary ingredients. You’ll be able to take your pick from variety of classic local plants and prepare Inle cuisines. Dive into an Inle culinary adventure and learn to cook as it was done by the grandparents. This cooking experience will offer you simple preparation of a cuisine and sourcing Inle ingredients depend on kinds of taste.

Day 5: Inle Lake – Nyaung Shwe

Enjoy your free leisure time at the lake resort until transfer to Nyaugn Shwe for short sightseeing to the ancient old wooden monastery of Shwe Yan Pyay. Visit the charming red painted teak monastery built in the early 19th Century, the reflecting art of Burmese architecture. Teakwood is widely used building materials across Myanmar, a good chance to see this hundred years old beautiful ceiling of Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery decorated with unique wood carvings and gold leaves.

In the afternoon visit to Ayetharyar Vineyard located in Ayetharyar Town closer to the capital of Taunggyi. The vines were imported from France and Spain and the wines are made in the tradition of western wines, but the climate and the soils give the wines their distinctive flavour. Take a tour through the vineyard conducted by the winemakers and then enjoy a tasting of several wines along with some snacks. Learn how the wine is made from varieties local made wine. Return to your hotel in Nyaung Shwe in the evening and rest of your day will be free leisure.

Day 6: Nyaung Shwe – Heho – Yangon

Breakfast will be served at the hotel after which you will be transferred to the Heho airport and return to Yangon where you're transferred to your hotel for check in, enjoy free time at leisure in Yangon until evening.

In the evening visit the breathtaking Shwedagon Pagoda, or Golden Pagoda, its stupa dominating the city’s skyline. This is one of the holiest places in Burma, and one reason why Burma is known as the "Land of Golden Pagodas". The pagoda itself is 99 metres (326 feet) high, studded with solid gold plates and decorated with diamonds and other precious jewels.

Optional Dinner with Show - Proceed to Karaweik Palace Hall to enjoy your buffet dinner selections of Burmese foods and European foods while enjoying the traditional dance show.

Day 7: Departure Yangon

Enjoy free time in Yangon until your departure flight.
