Situated along the south central coast of Vietnam, Hoi An is an outstanding example of a well-preserved ancient town that has been designated a World Heritage Site. Known as Faifo in the past, it was a major port town that boasted multi-cultural influences from the 16th – 18th centuries. Today, it is a quaint and picturesque town that can be easily explored on foot.
My Son is one of the foremost Hindu temple sites in South East Asia. For the Cham civilization that ruled Central Vietnam from the 2nd to the 13th century, My Son was an important religious centre and place of worship.
Continue the day activity with walking tour of ancient town Hoi An. Between the 17th and 19th centuries, Hoi An was a major and prosperous Asian trading port. Hoi An’s architecture and relaxed lifestyle have changed little over the years. Today, this World Heritage-listed ancient town boasts well-preserved buildings, pedestrianized streets and unique cuisine, allowing visitors a glimpse of its illustrious past.
The narrow lanes are ideal for a guided leisurely walking tour. There is plenty to visit including the old merchant’s houses with influences from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture; the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge; the Assembly Hall of the Chaozhou Chinese Congregation with outstanding wood carvings; and the colourful market with stalls brimming with local specialties including silk, which can be turned into fashionable garments within a day or two.
Start in the morning from the hotel and head out to Ba Na hills. It is more than 1,400m above sea level, 55km far from Da Nang city center (or 85km from Hoi An Ancient Town), Ba Na Hills – the complex including human made tourist sites, European Architecture Villas, huge in-door game world, French Wine Cellar, flower yards, pagoda… in a very pleasant climate.
The Golden Bridge offers breath-taking views of Da Nang City & the Ocean from Ba Na Hills. The walkway is 150 metres long and comprises of eight spans, each of which is lined with purple chrysanthemums, the bridge serves as a transit between a replica of man attractions on the hill. From the bridge, you also have a panoramic view of the green mountains of Núi Chúa – the Mountain of God.
The tour will conclude when you come back to your hotel in the afternoon.
Today is free at leisure for shopping and exploring this charming town, a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, or simply relax by the pool or on its beautiful white sand beaches. Alternatively, take advantage of an optional half day cycling tour to the peaceful & romantic countryside; Boat cruise tour or playing Golf at one of the World-Class Golf Courses.
